What is Twitch and why do we care?

Twitch is a platform owned by Amazon Inc, whose main service is the live broadcast of all kinds of content such as:

Game Plays (people playing video games)

Just Chating (people just talking to their audience)

IRL (In real live, outdoor activity broadcasts)

Sports events

Interviews

Understanding what the platform is, let's now talk a little about why it should matter to us so much, let's start with some figures from our reliable statistics provider Statista.

In addition to being the most used streaming platform in 2021, it was also the scene of massive music and sporting events, including world records such as having two million people watching a live broadcast.

In the previous graph we see how the public is concentrated in the age range of 18 to 34 years, the same public that most interests us technology merchants, without this meaning neglecting the other segments of our market.

Understanding the dynamics of platforms such as Twitch allows us to make more accurate decisions when defining what products to offer our clients, knowing that many of them are interested in consuming this type of content and even creating their own content, for which our customers are more demanding and knowledgeable about the product they are buying.

Finally, we will see two graphs that show the Top 10 countries with the most Twitch downloads worldwide during 2021, both on Android and iOS devices, and in both there is a presence of Latin American countries, however this is greater for Android devices.

We hope that this information will be useful to you, if so compared with your partners and collaborators and count on it in your decisions.
